Timing (Kyle Wilkie)
Chip Timing
All races will be chip timed. Chips will be picked up at packet pickup and must be worn in the area of your ankle during the race. Ankle straps will be available for all runners. Wear your chip correctly to ensure the system can read it. If you don't hear a beep when you cross, odds are good you didn't read. Please go back over the line and make sure you get a beep and notify the timing table if your chip isn't reading.
DNF, Quitting, Not-Finishing, Leaving the Course, Stopping, Timing Out
If you leave the race for any reason, you must TURN IN YOUR CHIP. If we have your CHIP, then we know you have left the course. The only exception is that you finish the race. We either have a finish time or we have your CHIP.
Split Time Collection
Some races will have mid-point reads to help us track progress during the race. If you see a timing mat on the course, make sure you run over it and hear a beep.
Check-In
All runners must check in prior to starting (at the start line) by walking over the mat either before the race or at the start of the race. This allows us to know you are here to begin with. Picking up your packet does not mean you started the race. We need to know you are out there on the trails. That is what the pre-race check in is for. This is very important, the park expects me to know this
This is the guy who can answer all your questions. He knows where everybody is and who has finished and who showed up and who dropped out. What he doesn't know is that you filled your name out wrong on your entry form and that you have no sex and are apparently ageless, so you don't sort out correctly in the results.
