DROP BAGS

The information on this page is meant to show you our GENERAL policies and guidelines only, that are true across all events.
All (very important) event-specific info is found on each event page.

Start/Finish/Next Lap, Race Hub Area:

  • For all events, you are always allowed a Drop Bag / whatever you want at the start/finish area. Look for the Drop Bag feather flag as to where to drop it. If there is no signage, feel free to place it wherever you like outside the race chutes or immediate starting / finishing areas.

Security:

  • Please note, we do not offer security watch over your belongings, and therefore do not guarantee the safety of your items. You assume all risk if you leave your personal items anywhere at any venue we are utilizing for an event.

Bag Types & Sizes:

  • If we are delivering, you must limit your bag to approximately a max size of 5 gallons. We will not take large ice chests.

  • We will not deliver trunks, big or heavy ice chests, styrofoam, light duty tupperware, or cardboard, and we suggest you don’t use cardboard or styrofoam containers at all (as critters around here love shredding them).

  • Only one drop bag per runner per station.

  • Bags must be labeled with your Name, Bib Number, and the Aid Station Name.

    • You will get your Bib # at Packet Pickup. We will supply duct tape and sharpies at the Drop Bag Dropoff Location. But feel free to bring your own marking supplies.

 Delivery Details:

  • If we provide Drop Bag service for a specific aid station, you need to have your Drop Bag in the designated area the night before the race or the morning of. Please see event-specific info below.

  • You may drop your own drop bags at some aid stations. Please reference the Aid Station Chart on each event page to know which aid station we allow this at. We also provide driving and/or hiking instructions on the Aid Station section of each event page.

Return Details:

  • We return all bags as we do a rolling teardown. However, we do not guarantee any drop bag will be returned until the official race ends as we never know what will happen logistically with the final very fatigued runners and volunteers.

    • So, if you are fast, your drop bag will not come back for quite a while after you are finished. Please plan accordingly.

  • If you must have your bags before then, simply do not send a bag out to distant aid stations. Or know that your crew can get it for you (or you can go for it too if you have the use of your legs left).

  • We do not mail drop bags to anyone. Ever. Do not ask.

Other Helpful Details:

  • You can do what you want, but we recommend you bring your Drop Bags for the Start/Finish/Turnaround area to the start line on race morning. Critters are likely to mess with them during the night before the race, as it will be quiet around there that night. Plus, we do not monitor the drop bag area until the race begins.

  • For the Start/Finish/Next Lap drop bags, there will be a drop bag area designated with signage. You still must label these bags as well.

  • For Aid Stations out on the course that we deliver to, drop bags will be lined up in Bib Number order after the race starts. They will not remain where you put them.

  • All abandoned drop bags will be disposed of very quickly after the event is over.

  • Make certain all your bags are weatherproof. Your bags will likely not be under protective coverings.

  • Secure all your items in your bag. For example, do not lay a jacket or shoes on your bag and expect them to stay with your bag. This includes the return trip back to you.
