Join us for trail work days at Southeast Metro Park in Austin. We will be building new trails to support the park and to use in a new spring trail race!
Every year, we make multiple trips to give back to various trail systems we use for events and where we simply enjoy running and cycling. On some trips, we’ll be creating new trails. Others we’ll be trimming back existing trails. On some meet-ups we will be primarily plogging (running while picking up trash). All of these events are a blast every time! We will work hard, play hard, do some running and course previews for upcoming races, thank the local trail stewards, and generally eat, drink and be merry! We hope everyone takes part in some giving back every once in a while. It makes the world around us much better!
This is going to be a big effort! We need a lot of people to sign up for this one. Please spread the word!
GENERAL INFO:
Tejas Trails and Great Springs Project have been chosen by Travis County Parks to build and host a trail race at Southeast Metro Park in Austin. To make this happen, we are going to be expanding and improving the already great trails of Southeast Metro Park on the southside of Austin.
This is a great thing for the park, and will create a better situation for day use, along with our annual race out there!
These work days offer the chance to work side-by-side with old friends and new friends.
If you can’t make it for all the planned days, we can use help for any part you can be there.
The park needs us. Please bring your friends.

LOGISTICS DETAILS:
We will be working from 8:00am - 6:00pm. We ask everyone to arrive at 8:00am or 1:00pm so that we can coordinate work groups. Depart at any time.
We will be meeting at the parking lot on the north side of the park, closest to the dinosaur park. After meeting at the park, we may transport some people by car around to the far north section of the route to work there.
